SOLO 7 aka Solomon Muyundo
In January of 2008 violence erupted across Kenya after a questionable election between incumbent president Mwai Kibaki, and opposition leader Raila Odinga.
SOLO 7, an artist and resident of Kibera, Nairobi’s largest slum, made efforts at preventing violence and looting by painting political slogans of peace on homes and businesses of residents.
He describes the day the post-election violence began in Kibera’s Line Sabaa, what he witnessed, and how he responded to the worst violence Kenya has seen in over a decade.
